Hershey Area New Neighbors
We are a women’s social club. Our goals are to promote friendship and
share information about the local communities to our members and guests.
Who are we?
Our group is comprised of every type of woman: working professionals,
mothers, retired and semi-retired persons, artists, teachers, etc. We
proudly represent nearly every decade of a woman’s life.
Where do we live?
Our membership draws primarily from Dauphin and Lebanon counties.
Currently, our addresses include Harrisburg, Hummelstown, Hershey and
Palmyra. If your address is not on this list, join us! We would love to
add more towns to our list. Most of our meetings and activities are
concentrated within 5-10 miles of Hershey with the occasional outing
taking us into the neighboring counties.
What do we do?
Meetings: We hold
general meetings monthly September through May. We usually meet at the
Hershey Public Library on Cocoa Ave. on the 2nd Thursday at 9:45am.
Call the library or one of our contact people to confirm because there
are some variations in our schedule.
Each month we invite a speaker to join us and share some of their
expertise with us, whether that is healthcare advice, genealogy tips,
history lessons or yoga. This is a great time to have fellowship with
one another and become aware of and sign up for upcoming events.
Special Interest Groups: We have several smaller groups within
our club. Some of them include: Walking, Bunco, Games, Mahjongg,
Breakfast & Lunch and a Book & Film group. Some of the groups meet
monthly, others are weekly. If your interest is not listed, join us – we
are anxious to expand to meet the needs of our members.
Outings: We typically plan one outing per month. A sample would
be: A Day in Lititz – After carpooling to Lititz, a small group of us
toured the Wilbur Chocolate and Sturgis Pretzel factories. We strolled
through the many specialty shops and had lunch in a lovely tearoom.
Socials: Throughout the year we get together just to celebrate.
We have met for a wonderful lunch at Pavone’s or the Hershey Hotel. And
we occasionally get together in the evening with spouses or partners.
